No. You have to slide the target adjacent to another creature and then force it to attack that creature.

Now of course a DM might allow this anyway, but strictly by RAW you can't do that.
 

I would disagree. Hypnotism forces the target enemy to attack a creature of the caster's choice, the target itself is a creature, so it is a valid target. If the power said "attack another creature of the caster's choice", the above interpretation would be correct.
