Question about Quasi-Deities

Back in the day, I used to have a chart that was something like...

Saint (Saint Kargoth, king of the death knights!)
Quasi-Deity/Hero Deity (Prince of Swords)
Demi-God
Lesser God
Intermediate God (What the hell is this eh?)
Greater God
Overgod.

Saints and Quasi-Deities weren't necessarily true gods but did have some unique divine powers and could be a threat to those above them. (Especially if they have a sword that disintegrates everything or are immune to all sword's special abilities...)

Hey there JoeG! :)

Represented in 1st Edition terms it should be a (formerly) Greater God who is not the head of a Pantheon (or one of the 400hp deities you could also say).

eg. Odin is a Greater God, Tyr is an Intermediate God.

The saints described in Dragon #79 (including St. Kargoth) were more or less equal to the quasideities, according to that article. Hero-deity is one step higher, roughly equivalent to Divine Rank 1 today - Kelanen Prince of Swords was the original example, but Zinzerena (listed as a hero/demigod in Monster Mythology) was another. The difference (as it was established in 2e Greyhawk materials) is that quasideities can't grant spells, while hero-gods can.

Quasi-deities really straddle the line between being a god and not being one. For example, all deities, even divine rank 0 ones, have at least three domains. But you need to be divine rank 1 to grant spells (which is one of the most common godly activities).

If you have a level 30 DvR 0 cleric (of an existing deity), I think considering them a saint (or apostle, or what have you) is the best way to go. They're more than mortal, but not even a demigod.

Really? Wow! That is so interested! Thanks Alzrius. :)
