Okay - thanks for all the replies. Great ideas, as usual.
Yeah, it was Tiamat.
Sheesh, the stats sheet on that "Death on Legs" entity reads like a horror movie script.
I had my Avenger, using Auramorphic armor each round, so I couldn't be attacked, and had a stance Quicksilver Blade up, so I could do one MBA each round. With SOC, and a Crit range of 18-20, plus high static damages I was actually doing pretty good. One guy with a sword mage had some skill (star flesh?) that boosted his defs up to 50+, so he rarely got hit. We tried to use us as the front line, flanking, but the DM argued that Tiamat, as a God, was smart enough to go after our leader classes and take them out. So we'd get in position, box Tiamat in, then Tiamat would fly (didn't seem to care about our OAs) to another target (warlord, cleric or ranger) and nail them hard with that 3 way at will attack (claw, claw, bite?), that does so much damage.
Its really weird to think of the swallowing thing Tiamat does. Thats....just odd to me.
I dropped Auramorphic Armor Attack every so often to hit with something big, when the Warlord buffed us for 1 round, like Hurricane of Blades, and I critted twice, and 1 crit off the offhand attack, and did 733 damage.
The Warlord also hit hard once with that killer daily, Path of Storms and did really good damage.
After we bloodied it, we got lucky a couple of times and 2 players rolled natural 20's on that condtion that kicks in after Tiamat is bloodied and it lost 500 points each roll. That helped.
Finally wore it down and we won, but we had several in the party go down, and everyone was pretty well out of daily's and encounters.
I have to say, it was interesting.
