Question about Use Magic Device skiill.

Ok, I am running a high-powered one player campaign currently, and the only PC character is a dwarven fighter. I am worried about her weakness against and lack of magic, even though the PC has some magic items (only lvl 5 so far).
My question is this: Can a non-spellcaster or "wrong type" (arcane using divine and vice-versa) use a scroll or wand? In the Players Handbook, it says the character can use a wand/scroll which has an effect "as if you had a particular spell on your class spell list" (page 89 PH), but it is not clear whether a character with no spell list can do so. Help! Thanks.

Yes, you can.

Nonspellcasters have, effectively, a blank class spell list.

Also - as a quick note, remember that spell trigger items (like staves and wands) are neither arcane nor divine. Anyone who has the spell on their class spell list can activate them with no problems.
