Question re Natural Bond feat....

Darmanicus

I'm Ray...of Enfeeblement
Hi all,

I currently play a paladin turned fist of raziel however the PrC doesn't allow the advancement of the mount which is fair enough but I've been using the mount a lot less now because it would be wasted in a heart beat.

Now you might say that it still has its uses such as being able to give you a flanking bonus for a round or two or to safely carry treasure but I see that as an abusement of one of my characters powers.

A pokemount is a paladins companion not a beast of burden/meatshield.

So I'm trawling thru me latest book, Complete Adventurer, and came across the druid feat - Natural Bond, which adds +3 to a druids effective level when determining its animal companions abilities/HD etc.

I tried to find the paladin equivalent feat but there was none.

So my question is does anyone have a problem with taking this feat and adapting it for a paladins mount?

Cheers.

Seems reasonable to make a paladin verison. Theorectically you might be able to get a stronger mount with Leadership that is stronger than what you propose, if you are high level.

It might be necessary to put a character level prerequisite (although I do not think this is an issue for you). At lowish-mid levels the mount is already the superior in raw fighting power to any PC that is not half decently optimized for combat. As you well know, the mount fades as you climb up in levels.
