Dont know if i am at the right category.
I saw this week the new Red Dragon Figure from WOTC its great, its Huge.
I got one question, does someone know if the measure is right propoortional to the nomal minis?
It gives the sentence dont attack something thats larger than a House a very real meaning.

Thanks.

I think the D&D Minis do a great job of trying to keep scale in mind. The CRD definetly puts things into perspective though. Its pretty massive... a lot bigger than i figured it would be.

It dwarfs the large and huge size minis and makes the new Black Dragon look like a little kid.

You are right.
Our Party will meet something what look exactly like it and my Wizard looks realy realy small in comparison.
Crap is exatly the right description.
I have still a long time to think how to fight it...................

It's not Huge, it's Colossal. Huge is much smaller. And yes, it is proportional to all the other minis.

Although the base is actually larger than it should be -- they actually state that in the documentation that comes with the miniature. The Colossal Red Dragon miniature uses an 8"x8" base (40'x40' in scale), whereas the actual Colossal space is 6"x6" (30'x30')...

From the documentation:
Base Size: The Colossal Red Dragon has a base size larger than normal for a Colossal creature in the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game. This has no effect on miniatures play; the creature simply occupies the space covered by its base. In the roleplaying game, treat the creature as occupying the normal 30-foot space.
Not that it matters much, because at that size, any character of size Large or smaller can occupy the same spaces as the dragon anyway. Which will be odd when they declare that they're on the spot the dragon's hindquarters occupy...

Who cares. Its just a minor technicality that can easily be overlooked considering the quality of the mini you're getting to smack down on your table. 30 feet or 40 feet, really, who cares. Don't miss the forest for the trees.

Heh. My DM picked one of these up before our last session. I looked at it perched on top of his shelf & asked if we should start rolling up new characters ...

For a size comparison, check out this pic by Kae'Yoss. It (and a few other pix) are in this thread about the mini.

I'm still astonished noone commented on my musical tastes yet ;)

Anyway, as the others said: it is to scale, just a bit larger than usual, but you can easily show players what they're up against. (You also might want to watch Reign of Fire for those scenes of human versus BFD)

I love the ads they ran in Dragon and elsewhere (two page-ads, first showing normal minis fighting against a pineapple, then against the Gargantuan Black, the other showing a broiler and then the Colossal Red, reading "Character death should be dramatic")
