Question: Wizard/ Dual magic missile

I'm trying to find a way that my wizard can cast magic missile twice. I was looking into multi classing/ hybrid.
I though i might be able to use Rangers twin strike. but it doesn't look like it. I think it needs to be a weapon for that to work.

any ideas?

There is a Wizard daily power called "Wizard's Fury" that lets you can Magic Missile as a minor action once per turn. Other than that there is no way to cast Magic Missile twice per turn.

Effect: Until the end of the encounter, as a minor action once per turn, you can cast magic missile.

hmm, I like this. It's not exactly what i was after but i get the desired effect for an encounter.
Now I just need to take advantage of this as much as possible. Perhaps i can find a way to use a daily a second time. Maybe something like the jewel of power maybe.
 

There are very few ways to reuse a daily. A few such things were published early on and ALL of them have been errated to get rid of that capability, its just too good. There are some that still exist but they only become available at the highest levels, usually through certain epic destinies.

There are ways to optimize Magic Missile (somewhat). You can get a Master's Wand, and there are a couple other things that will make it a bit stronger power. Overall though its a fairly weak at-will.

If you want to pick up on existing optimization knowledge, you'd probably want to go check out the WotC forums (charop forum) and class build guides on their wiki. If there are ways to do what you want or other schemes that will do stuff you may want to try out that will be the place to find it.

Spellstorm Mage paragon path. The Storm Spell ability lets you recover an expended Daily power on a high enough Wisdom check result.
 

It's a bit rules-lawyery and slightly cheesy, but you can use Time Stop and *ready* a magic missile. I'm unsure if I agree, but there have been those whom I've seen argue that readying an attack is not the same thing as attacking for the purpose of Time Stop's limitations.
 


You can also turn daily attacks into other daily attacks with Tome dailies, letting you get use of the same power more than once for your other powers (and letting you use different daily powers than you prepared, -and- add extra spells to your spellbook, retraining whichever ones are in the spellbook at the first opportunity). Multiple tomes of the same type let you do this multiple times.

The tome that lets you do this with force spells is Tome of Arrest -- though it first shows up as a level 9 +2 item, making it fairly expensive to have it except as your primary implement for a while.

I miss being able to sequence 5 magic missles, to be released all at once on some poor unsuspecting fool. bwaahahaha!
Make yourself a Wizard Daily based on Magic Missile, letting you cast it five times with one standard action. Call it "Gary's Magic Machine Gun".*

*Mr Gygax once lamented spell point/mana systems as turning mages into a kind of "magical machine gun".

As a controller power, this power sucks; it's totally un-controller-y. I have no idea how the damage scales -- I suppose it would depend on what level this power is.
