Questions about Magic Item Compendium

The catalog blurb for Magic Item Compendium said that it would contain 500 new items and 750 items from various sources. However, Andy Collins has said (on the Dungeons & Dragons website) that it would contain just over 1,000 items. So how many will be completely new?

And is there going to be a treasure table?

Needless to say, this is a book I'm really looking forward to.

The wotc blurb likely counts each varient seperatly:

Horn Caps of magic fang +x
Gloves of magic fang +x
Tooth of fagic fang +x

The total number in development was 1250 items. (500 + 750 = 1250). After editing out the lamest 250 and duplications and such, the final number for the release version is 1000, give or take.
