What so I miss out on if I buy the three smaller PDF's instead of the HC book?

The equipment, and I believe the description of actions and such. Plus a cool looking hardcover, of course. It seems a weird tradeoff, because if you hunt around a bit you should be able to find the hardcover for close to the same price as the three PDFs. If you factor in printing and binding, the hardcover is a much better deal.

Runechildren, equipment and the Playing the Game chapter are all missing. Few other minor things. There are three pages of new material, one at the start of each of the three pdfs, but those are all flavor text. If you have to choose, get the hardcover. If you can afford both, there's the copy/paste option if you need to put a piece of information into your DM notes. You can buy all three as a bundle last I checked for $18. But the hardcover does have more.

Overstock.com has it the cheapest. I think it is cheaper then the three PDFs or its a buck or two more. The PDFs are nice if you are doing a website or use a laptop because you can copy/paste. Otherwise get the HC.
