Quick ECL Question

Villano

First Post
I'm going to be playing in a neutral to evil all monster game (sort of a little break for the players to stretch and have fun), and I'm having trouble picking a race to start. I'd actually like to be a wererat monk, but I don't know the ECL on it (we're playing 6th level, so we're limited to ECL 5).

So, is there any system as to how to figure out the ECL of a monster or a website with the ECLs listed (not just of the wererat since it may go beyond the allowed limit)?

The Min/Maxer in me says to try and weasel your DM into allowing a Weretiger monk. :D

But, that's just ugly.

I half jokingly asked to be a lich and he said "yes" until another player pointed that you needed to be 11th level. :)

That's when you throw dice at the other player. Not your dice, though :D

Hey Villano

I have to defend myself

I would have caught the level requirement... er eventually..really.

As villano's DM, please don't encourage his min/max instincts. I may not be able to control him as it is ;)

Hay, Daiymo!

I wasn't expecting to see you here! LOL

And don't forget, when we started discussing this game, I first suggested a gnoll lich cleric. ;)

Hmmm...To bad that you have to be a spellcaster to be a lich, or my wererat monk would be going for it. Think of what I could do with that touch attack and a flurry of blows.

And don't complain about my min/maxing. The game hasn't started, yet, and I could always go with a vampire monk. Unarmed strike. Slam attack! You lose 2 levels! Unarmed strike. Slam Attack! Another 2 levels. Mwa-ha-ha-ha!

You can only drain once per action, not per attack. See page 56 of the D&D FAQ.

If you want to be Nasty, go for a Ghoul monk. Flurry of Blows, with paralysis! ;) I think the paralysis applies to all touch attacks, since they get two claws.
