Quick! Everyone to HOUSE RULES forum!

True, because people post to general instead of house rules. I don't blame anyone for doing so, one person isn't going to change the reading habits of the ENW readers. Stuff like this will continue to be posted in general, at least till the mods decide to, you know, moderate.

I'd definately support merging several of the forums into a general DM forum - plots, whereabouts, and house rules would all benefit from increased traffic. THey would also benefit from the same kind of reader - creative DMs.

I don't understand why most of the other forums were split off at all. Do people not want to discuss those topics here? If they don't belong in the main forum, is there some reason they all need to be broken down into such low-traffic slivers?

Shouldn't this thread really be in Meta? ;)

I agree. I can see how some division is necessary but the way it is now, you might as well not bother to post anywhere but General or D&D rules if you want any kind of response.

The Meta forum is a perfect example. When meta threads used to be part of general, just tagged with [meta], there were often useful or interesting enough threads relating ot the boards that were worth reading, but they never drowned out general discussion. But who really wants to hang out in a Meta forum and just discuss the message boards?

The is not intended as a criticism but as a call for those in charge to give some more thought to the way things are divided. I fully support combining some of the least trafficked boards into a gereral DM's board.

You think those forums are slow. General Discussion hasn't had a new post in over 30 seconds. 30 seconds! How am I supposed to waste time at work if no one will post more that once a minute?

I think the drop in traffic is due to the fact that not all the forums show up on th main page anymore, and you have to trawl through series of web pages to get to them...

That's true. The forums need to all appear right away instead of some hiding behind folders like "DM stuff." For some reason, when I first go to the Messageboards, I get the abbreviated list, but when I click to go to "General D&D Forums" I get the full list! It's a pain in the butt, especially during board slowdowns.

Hmm...

I'll put a poll in the Meta forum about the issue of combining forums into a 'DM Stuff' forum. If it's a popular idea, I have no problem with it.
