Potential spoilers below but really LMoP is ancient history these days :)

I have a number of issues with LMoP as a starter adventure, but probably the biggest is the wimpy ending. The Black Spider definitely needs some beefing up (including HP and lair actions - such as reinforcements, tactical building collapse) if you don't want things end with a whimper. In my inexperience I doubled the number of giant spiders and it was still too easy.
I actually managed to get my group killed (TPK) even without any extra creatures at that battle.

I'll be having my first session zero as a DM coming up in a couple weeks. I plan to run a published campaign, as I have no idea how to make my own world. I'd like to present the different campaigns to the group and let them discuss which sounds the most interesting.

Are there any short (2-3 sentence) previews of each (including the new one) I could use to explain/tease each?

Cheers~

You could always take a look at The Scouring of Gate Pass, the first adventure in the War of the Burning Sky campaign saga. https://wotbsadventurepath.com/

The heroes are recruited by the resistance to get a package and their agent out of the city of Gate Pass before it falls to the second army of the Ragesian empire. Through a frantic 48 hours, the heroes locate the package, deal with agents from several nations, and evade bounty hunters before coming face to face with an inquisitor of the Ragesian empire. The adventure starts at 3rd level, making it less likely that a bad roll automatically kills a PC.

If you and the players want to continue with the campaign saga, it explores a world at war in an age of magic. The heroes will help assemble a resistance against the mighty Ragesian empire, recover its mightiest artifact, and use it to turn the tide of the war. Along the way, the heroes will:
* Traverse a forest that has been burning for 40 years
* Defend their adopted home from dangers within and without
* Unite a fractured kingdom
* Destroy the enemy's superweapon
* Choose whether to ally with morally grey characters to build their armies
* Defend their home from invasion by creatures from another realm
* Assemble the armies of the resistance and teleport them to the enemy's last stand

It is a time commitment; this 12-part campaign will probably take you 2+ years to complete.

The campaign guide and player's guide are free to download through the link above and give you a better idea of what the campaign entails.
