Sorry after reading the Hobbit brother posts we lost it. We all would start laughing and couldnt stop then when we finally started to get a grip someone would say one of the things above and send us all back to the floor.

Now one of my players is dedicated to making " Red Fox" the Halfling Rogue. He says he is going to start a side buisness in Waterdeep...a junkyard.

I actually think Halflings with African features is a great idea. Hearkening to the "pygmy" tribes in africa. They aren't quite that short, but the imagery works.

And that's pretty much exactly what happens if a human who is not a great hero tangles with even an untrained giant with no formal combat training.
I thought we were talking physical impossibilities (or at least improbabilities) here, not what heroes are capable of. After all, halfling PCs are pretty much heroes by definition of being PCs. If small humans fighting human size monsters stretches your credibility, how do you get past humans being able to fight giant humans? It's the exact same situation.

On the other hand an untrained halfiling has a shot of taking out an untrained human in a fist fight.
A cat has a shot of taking out an untrined human in a fist(/claw) fight.
