Valan starts toward the farmers and lowers his voice, "who wants to take this one?"

Gideon looks at Valan, "You've done well doing the talking so far, and Tor is very ... cheerful, I think it best if the two of you do most of the talking."

"Fine, fine, everyone stow your weapons if at all possible" Valan moves up to the farmers, waving as soon as the notice "Hail good sirs! If I could just talk with you for just a moment?"

 

[Dungannon]

The man raises his head as he hears Valan's greeting. He walks out to meet you outside the barn, the boy, probably his son based on the resemblance, follows close behind.

"Eh, what can I help you with?"

Valan's volume drops as the distance to the farmer shortens "Well, we were just passing through, and heard about the recent attacks. I was wondering if you had seen anything, or heard any commotion?"

 

[Dungannon]

The farmer looks lost in thought for a couple of seconds, then "Ya mean the wagon fire? Nah, didn't really hear anything. It happened sometime during the night. Didn't notice anything til morning, when we saw the smoke from the burning wagon. Must've been some sort of bid deal, though, seein' as how a watch patrol from Allimon came around the next day asking questions."

The farmer than takes a closer look at the lot of you, "You don't look like any members of the watch I've ever seen. What's your interest in it?"

""We heard rumors of bandit attacks, and anything that makes the roads more dangrous interest us, we just want the attacks to stop" Valan pauses for effect "Wagon fire, was it just a wagon fire? Were there any deaths?"

 

[Dungannon]

"Aye, there was death." The farmer looks down at his young son, "Micah, you go on inside. See if your Ma has a cool drink to offer these men."

Once the boy leaves, the man looks back at you. "There were a total of seven bodies I found that morning. Three were in the fire, the others were hacked up. The watch said there was a band of marauders around and they're attacking caravans heading to Allimon from Ravensdale. Is that true?"

Gideon blurts out incredulously, "There was an attack that close to your home and you didn't witness it?"

The farmer looks at Gideon, "Like I said, the attack happened during the night, while my family and I were sleeping."

"During the night..., Did you see the caravan before sundown? Had it stopped for the night?"
