R1: Hired Hands (nimisgod judging)

"I'm in favour of heading down the road, investigating any clues we might come across. If we come up empty, we can ask around in Ravensdale, which may well be productive."

Cheers,

"Tor's suggestion that they must be getting supplies elsewhere seems very valid to me, although I think it unlikely that they are paying any farmers for the food and goods they take. The caravans that were attacked all passed through Ravensdale on their way here. Perhaps we should head to Ravensdale, but visit the outlying farms for any information."

Gideon's eyes smolder for a moment, then he continues in a lower voice, "Ragnykir said that there is no love lost between Allimon and Ravensdale, and that Allimon was sending guards out to 'look for bandits'. We should consider the possibility that these bandits may not be bandits at all, but guards or mercenaries."

"Does visiting some of the outlying farms on our way to Ravensdale sound like a viable plan? Or should we visit the outlying farms, and stick around Allimon to see what we can learn?"

"If they aren't paying for the supplies, I bet we find people eager to help us find those bandits. Let's go see what we find."

ooc: So the plan is to carry on to Ravensdale and stop and question farmers and settlers along the way? Are you planning on leaving by the South Gate or the West Gate? Anyone getting any other supplies besides a map of the area?

OOC:[sblock] That's seem like the plan till we come up with a better one, Valan would head to the west gate(After picking up BJ  ), and a map is all he has in mind[/sblock]

OOC: I believe so, although I think Gideon will get a few days worth of rations while we are shopping around for a map. Also, we'd be leaving via the west gate, unless there is a better way to get to the outlying farms.

Tor is happy to be moving on, now that the party has rested. Gideon's comments about the possibility that the bandits are really guard is begining to sink in, and that would certainly mess up his plan, but for now he's willing to continue to act on the idea that the culprits are in fact bandits. Acts of war between Allimon and Ravensdale will need a whole new plan, if proven.

Valan retrieves BusterJack from the stable, and the party heads to the Merchant Quarter by the South Gate. Gideon sets out to procure a few days' rations, Valan shops around for a map of the outlying area, and the rest ask around about caravans heading toward Ravensdale.

After an hour or so, Gideon returns to the South Gate with his rations, Valan comes back emptyhanded, unable to find any maps that provide more detail than the one Ms. LeCroix provided back at the Red Dragon. Tor, Ragnikyr and Kerrz are already waiting, having discovered that the only caravan heading to Ravensdale left at dawn, the next one not being scheduled to depart for two more days.

ooc: IcyCool, you get 4 days' rations for 2 gp. LogicsFate, subtract 5 sp for BusterJack's stabling. Don't worry, I'm sure the party will make it up to you when treasure is next divided. The party's total bill at Old Gertrude's is 5 gp, I'm assuming you're splitting it evenly. :)

You can go through town to the West Gate and depart from there or you can depart from the South Gate and follow the Loop, a wide, well beaten path that encirlces Allimon on the outside of the wall used by wagons and carriages to reach the proper gate without the hassle of maneuvering through city streets.
