R2: Rats in a Maze [Manzanita judging]

Metrius spots an empty table near the center of the floor. It's a smaller table, designed for 4, but given Fimble's size the five of you should be able to make it work. The other patrons give you passing glances, none of which are very friendly, but neither are they overtly hostile.

Tor looks around the room, but doesn't see any obvious threats. He takes a seat at the open table, but doesn't place an order as yet.

ooc: Taking a road trip, posting will be limitted for a couple of weeks.

ooc: I'm going out of town and will be offline til Sunday night. Feel free to take this opportunity to discuss your options and what the party's immediate plans are. I plan on kicking things up a notch when I get back. :)

Gideon takes his seat, eyes alert for trouble from the other patrons. "I don't think that we'll be ambushed here, Tor." He says quietly. "But I'm willing to wait for a little while to see if I'm wrong."

"I'll have a cider as well, thanks," Babette says to the barkeep, before joining the others at the table.

ooc: options and plans, do we have any besides following Simone's list?

At the table, Metrius has a quick glance to make sure no-one is listening in or paying particular attention to them before speaking in a hushed whisper. "Well, are we getting anywhere? After those two, I think the only link we've really got is the access to the sewers, and only any indication that that was used at one site. Has there been anything significant that I've missed?

We'll see if the sewers are a link at some of the other sites, I guess, before we investigate that route. Hopefully the site north of the city that Harrold mentioned will provide some of the solutions."

A waitress brings the drinks and Metrius' stew. The food is a little subpar, but the drinks are nice and strong. As the group discusses their options a couple of other patrons sitting at a corner table start to get into a shouting match. The stand up and the bigger of the two throws a roundhouse punch that knocks the smaller man back into the wall. He must be a tough bugger, though, because he quickly gets back up and launches himself into a full body tackle of the big man resulting in both of them rolling on the floor, knocking over chairs and upsetting tables.

Metrius sighs, "We've picked the wrong inn then, he mutters to his friends, "Guess someone ought to kick them out before they break the furniture".

Metrius looks at the bar staff to see if they are going to intervene in a more official manner before he stands himself.

Babette

"I smell a bar fight, and we're smack in the middle of things. Let's try to not get mixed up in any nonsense that gets started."
