(Races & Classes) Racial Weaponry

Wasn't there a mention of "hellforged" items in the Teifling section?
Ha! That's lovely. Moorcock sometimes described Stormbringer as a 'hell-forged runeblade'. Now I want to make an albino Tiefling warlock/fighter who wields a hellforged bastard sword...

While the different weapon appearance are likely just flavors, that flavor might permeate the game in interesting ways. Obviously certain tools are utilized more by some races than others - like axes and hammers for dwarves and bows for elves. But moving beyond that basic level of differentiation, perhaps the Dungeon Master's Guide will discuss how different races prefer to weave different enchantments into their magical equipment. Or perhaps each race will have a certain number of powerful items uniquely in line with their abilities and worldview.

I think that the principle is just to show that different races typical weapons look different (but a tiefling longsword is otherwise the same as a dwarvish longsword or human longsword).

There are some hints that some weapons are particular to certain cultures (dragonborn with katana and punch dagger), but nothing really specific.

Katana and Katar, hmm? I can see my players mixing them up already.

Also, I agree that it'll mostly be in the aesthetics, possibly combined with favoured weapon techniques for races/cultures.
