I can't help with your epic feat dilemma, but don't worry about etiquette, you seem to be doing fine

By the way Sil, if you want to do an even more awful exploit using the new DMG text than the Chameleon one (which is minor), consider playing a Warforged who completely loads up on Warforged feats and then caps out Reforged after becoming epic. You suddenly gain all of those feats back to take as if you had just gained them all
