Races of Stone... and more!

I'd have to say that I'm not a fan of the cover art any of the recent or upcoming brown colored core books. Complete Warrior, Unearthed Arcana, Players Guide to the Planes, Races of Stone, and most notably Compete Divine. Blah.

it's better than the "Complete So-and-So's Handbook" books from 2nd edition.

i do miss the covers of the old days from 1st edition. who can forget the cover to the original AD&D DM's Guide? or the cover to the Fiend Folio.

the new covers have a nice theme, but nothing to look at.

Another book about the planes? I was really hoping for something Forgotten Realms specific. I found the FRCS to be lacking in terms of detail about its cosmology and all the properties of the various planes.

Anyone know a good source, hopefully 3rd edition, that goes into more details about the planes in the FR setting?

The upcoming Player's Guide to Faerun will contain information on each of the planes in the FR cosmology.

I think WotC is getting too specific with their HC books. At least Underdark covered a lot of area under Faerûn. Even The Unapproachable East was too specific, but thankfully that was where my campaign had started.

Hope something more world-encompassing will be coming out soon (besides the Player's Guide).
"Too specific" is exactly the kind of FR books I want. "World-encompassing" does me no good anymore (and, along with the fact that the PG is just a 3.5 patch, are reasons I won't be buying the PG).

If the Planar Handbook is anywhere near as good as the Manual of the Planes was, it will be a must have. Not so sure on the others, though.

Races of Stone
Dungerons & Dragons Accessory

Jesse Decker, Michelle Lyons, David Noonan

Races of Stone provides an in-depth look at races that live on, under, or around mountains in the D&D world.

There is extensive information on the classic races of gnomes and dwarves, including new rules, information for interaction, new spells, and new magic items attuned to each race. In addition, there are new races, over 20 new prestige classes, over 40 new feats, new equipment, and new magic items.
Yuck.
Isn't it a little late to be doing the whole Race books now?

It's never too late, are there a lot of people that will consider this "canon" before any third party publishers work. Just the nature of consumers. :)
