Racial class levels and LA adjustment, is there advantage either way?

My most recent pc is a Centaur, LA +2 and 4 racial hit di levels equals a total of 6 levels before I can select his first class level. The alternative was 6 racial class levels (Races of the Wild page 98) The question simply put, "is there an advantage to selecting 1 over the other"?

They are exactly the same, the racial class just breaks the Centaur down so that you could play one at first level. So by the time you've finished the racial class, you would have the same character you'd have if you started at 6th level.

... if you play with the UA LA buy off, however, I would think that regardless, taking the LA would be ... "better" ... as you could pay it off, and - effectively - only deal with 4 racial HD ...
