That's pretty neat, especially with the rotating globe. What did you use to build it?

Nothing for I am a god!!!!....or CC2 profantasy software. It just doesn't sound as impressive though. :)

Looks like there are only two major continents. That's cool; you could do a kind of Australia thing where one has developed very different and unique species because it is so far removed. That might not work on as large a scale.

What sort of things do you like? what sort of things bother you?

For instance, I don't particularly like asian themes in my D&D unless it is all asian. I don't like the monks, ninjas, samarai, etc. I also don't like dinasaur's in my game ... there are countless others i dislike

While at the same time I enjoy mystery, perhaps something a race has shrouded from others (Think Fremen from Dune) I also like countries at war for various reasons. I like elves in my forests, I like dwarves in my mountains, and I like assassins in the shadows ;)

This seems like the place to start, tell us what you like or don't like about other fantasy worlds and start to think about what you would want to put in your world. After that, I think you would be ready to divide it up into the two continents presumubly creating two different worlds to campaign in while leaving only a boat ride to switch to a whole separate experience.

I also used Photshop for the above but the core maps came straight out of exports. Fractal Terrains Pro is a little hard to get to make custom maps but generates random maps easily.

More examples that might help visualize better.

I am pretty open on this. I had some spare time so I made a map. That said, let's take a look.

If we are going fantasy, I like everything to fit. If there are sentient races, then they will have organization and a niche to fill. Dwarves taking the mountains are cool but how about we look at the southern continent dwarves as an empire of merciless power and cruelty while the northern Dwarves are a nomadic people who once lived in the mountains but now, for whatever reason, wander the land.

The dwarves of the south could use goblins and orcs to do their bidding. In the north, Elves live free, riding the plains and fighting off any incursions by the Southern Empire.

Humans suffer the yoke of the Dwarves int he south but are bolstered by a number of kingdoms in the north that run a secret rebellion in the Southern Empire.

Just throwing some ideas out.
