Raistlin in Night Below

Personally I think the paintjob on the Raistlin mini leaves a lot to be desired. Likewise, the Wulfgar mini paintjob (previewed in the same article as Raistlin) could be better.

Can't get enough WAR art. It's been seven years now since I cracked open the Monster Manual and raised an eyebrow at his work. I know some in my group don't like it, but to me it just keeps getter better and better. More WAR art!

Nah, that's not the look I mean... :p

Just not my thing. What can I say.

The sword may not be historically accurate, but it is cool looking. The armor is so impractical-looking that I think it's kind of funny, really.

Another vote for Dragonlance art. It's all Larry Elmore, baby. L.E. all over W.A.R... There's just something COOLER to it, I think... maybe it's because W.A.R.'s work often has a bit of a "pose" to it, while Elmore's work more often portrays a "Scene"? I dunno.

Oh, and a Raistlin mini? AWESOME.

Criticising Wayne Reynolds's artwork just gets you pity, from me.

I wasn't aiming my criticism at a particular artist (I think the goblin painting looks pretty cool, despite the weapons, which I don't like), I just see that in a lot of the art, lately. I saw it in Dungeon magazine art, too (the issue that kicked off Age of Worms springs to mind). I guess it might all be W.A.R.'s art, I don't know. If so, then he's a good artist, but I'm not into his frequent use of dungeonpunk/spikes/tattoos/big-weird-weapons. If it's not just W.A.R., but other artists, too, then the same holds true.

I never cared for that "look," and now I'm really tired of it; feel free to pity me if it makes you feel better.

I like that Raistlin is going to be in the new set, but he's going to be good-aligned so he can be with his friends.

Nope! He is in his Red Robes so he is still neutral.:)

I'm waitning for the Black Robed Repaint.
