I am surprised they haven't brought back Dungeon! for use with minis (that is what my kids use my handful of minis for lately).

I preferred the old business model, when new rules didn't replace the old ones - they just tagged an adjective on it, such as "expert" and/or "advanced", and sold them all at the same time.

Seriously, why not maintain 3E, and just make 4E "Advanced 3E"?

I think to a degree you have left. I think there are many who would be willing to play and immerse themselves once more, but they need a conductor who still believes. For good or ill, the podium is empty. The reasons are a little foggier, though, I think.
