D&D 5E Random Dungeon Creator

I've tried the random dungeon creator in the 5ed DMs guide about three times now, and though I've not much experience with them in general, I find this particular one isn't that good.

I understand something of this nature can't be perfect, and that there will always be oddities, but still, does anyone have a link to one they can recommend?

Yes sorry about that, I should have specified I'd prefer if it was one where you had charts/tables to roll dice on.

Do you want something to populate a dungeon randomly, or a random map generator?

If the latter, search for Dyson's Dodecahedron - I can't link to it right now, our firewalls have blocked it. There are details of a random map generator on there which might be of use, using dice to determine rooms, etc., and it links to the "parent" site where the method was first detailed.

I like the one in Dungeon Master 4th Edition For Dummies by James Wyatt, Bill Slavicsek, and Richard Baker, if you can track it down. Rest of the book isn't bad either.

Give it a second try? I came up with this dungeon using the DMG tables: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showth...e-Minotaur-Prince-(and-other-random-dungeons)

I tried it, and came up with a level that I was satisfied with, but when the geometry started to give me ideas for what the dungeon was like, I started editing the rooms and corridors like crazy.

So I use that sort of thing as an idea generator--the large-scale framework of the dungeon might be random but the fine structure and contents never are.

Try it again is exactly what I did, and I have to admit I was a bit hasty in disregarding it.

It's really quite good if you reign in it here and there; which is essential you do just that with these kind of things.
