Well, I think instead of just posting each question I have individually I just put them into one big hulking thing. Ah well... However I left my notes at home for what all I wanted to ask so here's to winging it:

1. Is there a chart to determine how much information someone "knows" when doing a knowledge arcana, nature, etc for a monster they're trying to remember? We can't seem to get a flow for what the DC is for learning the HD, SA, SQ, etc etc...

2. I'm pretty sure the answer to this is the same time, but if a cleric were using it's familiar to help it make ranged touch attacks, would the familiar go at the same time as the cleric or would it need it's own init? Also, there was a discussion about only casters really have a familiar, but could anyone get a familiar (say a rogue to get the +2 to slight of hand I believe it is...)?

*insert dead time for brain going out*

3. Ummm... I guess the rest/last will have to wait till I get home. *Snicker*

Anyway, those 2 should be ok for now.. whatcha think?

Can you elaborate on what you mean by that?

The way we do is based on the DC in the book. I think it's DC = 10 + HD of the creature. If you make the check, you can ask one question. For each 5 points by which you beat the DC, ask another question.

I'm not sure how a Cleric gets a familiar (without multiclassing), but I think the answer to your question is: They go on the same Init.

I'm sorry, yes, the cleric is multiclassed, wiz/cler.

With you guys asking about it, I guess that means a pureblood rogue couldn't get a monkey familiar to get the +2 SoH.

As far as I know: Not without House Rules. That's what House Rules are for, though.

No. Familiars are class features of the Wizard and Sorcerer classes.

Rogues can't turn undead either.

With my question, though, I meant "In what way is the familiar helping the character with his ranged touch attacks"?

Familiars can deliver touch attacks-I assume that is what he meant.

Oh, okay. But they're melee touch attacks, not ranged touch attacks.

I think I'd generally assume that a familiar shared its master's initiative roll at the start of combat for simplicity. But if familiar or master took initiative-altering actions like Delay or Ready, that might change.

Isn't there now a feat that allows someone who wouldn't normally acquire a familiar get one? I could have sworn I read it somewhere... CA maybe? Or maybe CAdv... I'll hafta look it up tomorrow.

There's a feat on the WotC website (... Wild... something article) that gives Wild Cohorts.
