Random things for a wild mage

I was toying around with creating a Sorcerer who would go into the Wild Mage PrC and wanted to give them random feats, magic items, etc. So far for feats I was thinking of a houseruled Energy Substitution where the resulting energy is determined randomly. And in the way of magic items I've seen the Wyvern’s Die, the Rod of Wonder and the various Bags of Tricks. Are there any other feats or magic items out there that work randomly? Thanks for the help!

Make a chart that had a random personality type and accent and randomly roll every day. Pick a new word everyday and use it as much as possible. Play poker with a Deck of Many things.
 


At high levels, the prismatic ray spell is made for this. Add illusionary flavour side effects to Confusion spells and you've got another match.

Actually many of the rainbow and prismatic themed spells have a random element, and they provide you with a sort of theme for the character as well. Rainbow Ray, for example, does a random type of energy damage and isn't bad for a 2nd level spell. Rainbow Blast is also a decent spell for sorcerers, as it does multiple energy damage which tends to even out against foes with both an energy immunity and an energy weakness.

As an added bonus, the capstone Wildmage ability has rainbow oriented flavor text, so it's all good.

Pick up Improved Familiar, get yourself a Radiant Mephit (he has hands and can use UMD if you invest in it, and you probably will), and enjoy!

(My take on radiant mephit is to alter a fire mephit so its 1/hour ability is Color Spray and its 1/day ability is Rainbow Ray, and to make its breath weapon a cone of searing light that is mechanically identical to the steam mephit's breath weapon)
