Range of bite/claw when enlarged

I did some research on that matter, because I never understood why it wasn't listed as something you get in the prestige class description. Also there are other differences between the template and the DD prestige class like
==> which is the secondary natural weapon
==> bonus spells
==> no wings if medium (in the template)
==> double speed with wings when large (in the template)
==> type = dragon...

So I found the post of "likuidice" (thx!) here on the board where he wrote to customer support:

"second, at 10th level, the dragon disciple prestige class states that the character takes on the half dragon template, is this simply flavour text, or does the character actually gain the entire template, including level adjustment, stat boosts etc. Common sense dictates that its simply flavour text and the character simply gains the bonuses listed, however the passage mentions the template, so its unclear.

-This is simply flavor text, since the character only gets the benefits listed in the prestige class. Good Gaming!

So for me it's clear: you can't pick what you like from the template and what you don't like not: You only get the benefits from the prestige class description ==> no change of your type, you stay humanoid (if you were one). So no immunity to dominate person, but you can be enlarged with a normal enlarge potion (but still no double speed with your wings)

Cust-serv was utterly wrong there.

Well, in that case I would also get a LA of +3, and enlarged I would have double fly speed and maybe I would get another +8 to STR and claw would suddenly become the primary weapon and not bite. And the alignment would also change, because according to the template you get the same alignment as the dragon variety you took.

I think it's just wishfull thinking that your type does actually change. Why should they hide some goodies (and it IS a goodie) in the template and not write it down in the prestige class? And if you say "your type changes, but your alignment does not, nor do you get double fly speed when enlarged, then you are just picking the things from the template you like and ignoring the things you don't like.
So it's either the template or the prestige class. So all this boils down to the question what the sentence "At 10th level, a dragon disciple takes on the half-dragon template" actually means, and the supports answer that this is just flavor text is the only reasonable thing here.
