Ranger with a Wand

Right now, I'm playing a Ranger 1 / Cleric 3 / Paladin 2. (Paladin is kind of a prestige class in our game, you can't take it at first level). He has the magic domain, so he can use a wand of anything on the Ranger, Cleric, Paladin, or Mage lists.

A bastard sword, buckler, and wand is a combo that actually competes with the beloved great sword.

Yes a paladin or ranger can use wands at first level.
However they cannot cast spells from scrolls until they actually gain they ability to cast spells and get a caster level.
