Which is precisely my point. We simply don't know enough about what a Ranger is or what training they recieve to start creating a D&D class based on rangers. We don't know anything substative about the abilities of Halbarad, or Elladan, or Elrohir, or anyone else that was a ranger or at least went out with them on 'deeds of errantry'. Heck, we can't even say how they were organized, or whether they were organized, or whether the only time we get to see them in action is a highly unusual exception to the rule because these are highly unusual times. So perhaps the Rangers normally operated in teams, or in large companies, or by themselves. We don't know. We only see them (or mostly see) them operating together and in large companies in the books, but who knows, maybe they only did this because war was at hand. Either way is complete speculation.
Maybe all Rangers are woodcrafty. Maybe not. Maybe all Rangers are great trackers. Maybe only most are. Maybe the skill is only common among the Rangers of the North. Maybe all rangers can make sounds that imitate birds. Maybe only some are especially skilled at this. The Rangers of Ithilian seemed to prefer green. The Rangers of the North apparantly wore more somber colors and maybe even appropriately Numenorean black. We might suppose that this is something to do with camoflague, but we might be entirely wrong. It might have more to due with Heraldry. We don't really know. Maybe all the Rangers, by virtue of being Numenorean have elvish abilities to control thier bodies, to heal, and to a lesser extent manipulate the environment around them. But if so, even Faramir doesn't manifest them to any noticible degree and the blood of Numenor seems to run true in him if it does in anyone. Aragorn goes for DAYS without sleep (count the number of days he misses sleep prior to the battle of Pelannor Fields), and can run multiple marathons successively. Is this a rangerish ability? Is this his elvish blood manifesting itself? Is it some of both.
