Could you imagine that Pixar, deciding that the movie needed an additional gimick, released it in the US in French with English subtitles?!?

I would have prefered that over the faux accents in the movie. There were two scenes I couldn't understand a word the cooks said.

OTOH, that would eliminate O'Toole from being in it and Ego was my favorite character.

Excuse the thread necromancy, but I've just seen it in the UK, and I loved it. The film had a lot of heart to it, and when Anton tastes the ratatouille... my heart was in my mouth (figuratively!).

Pixar back on form, I say.

And it's coming out on DVD this month. I believe it's next Tues. I didn't get to see it in the theater so I'm gonna pick up the DVD. They had two of the rats, Remy and a medium brown heavier rat (his dad?) down at Disney World this year in the Animation building in MGM.

Just saw it again and I have to say it drags even more than A Bug's Life. But I still find it more enjoyable than TS2 and Nemo.

The extra short about rats is quite informative and I love how they try to make rats look good by showing something even less appealing- a real flea.
