Hey, if you hadn't wasted all that time stalking me everywhere...!

Podcast? There was Podcast? Podcast is awesome! It's like the new blogging. All must worship the glory that is Podcast!

... or so I've heard.

*sigh* My insult calibrator is off again. It never occured to me that that might be a moddable statement. I've become too naturally coarse for ENWorld apparently.

You've always been too coarse for ENWorld. We just let you post here because your wife is hot.

You told me you liked that rough texture!

In any case, my wife's not likely to start posting here. Although last night I did make up for my spectacular failing two nights ago. :win:

Hm... I type CM smilie code by default a lot, don't I?

Had to give it a 5. I refuse to be deflowered by anyone/thing that i wouldn't have rated top notch.

Being my first, i don't have a huge list of games i played in or events i attended. I barely hit one game or booth babe session per day, and i still never got to bed before 3.

My highlight was offending the crap out of Piratecat. It was also my lowlight. If/when i get of his IL i will thank him for putting up with me all these years.

I can't express how liberating Gencon was for me, as a person. (Can ENworld handle this emo :):):):)?) It won't solve my mid life crisis or grow hair on my chest ;) but it sure made me realise that gaming can be a gateway to improving one's life in general, and life is too damn short to put off that sort of change.

Every last damn person i met i adore and would love to game with again and again. I would shout out individually but then i'd miss someone and that would suck so i'll just reiterate that many people put forth tons of effort (looking at you Xath) and others are just stand up wonderful people and deserve better recognition than i'm giving them here.

While I agree this con was very good, I have noticed how so far no one brought up the "Big 40th GenCon Anniversary Party."

Possibly because (in my opinion anyway) it was terrible. It was a place for us to go to buy drinks. No swag, no big birthday song, no FOOD, nothing. Just a band with rude members, a cash bar, and SPACE to stand around. What a letdown.
This fascinates me. I had no idea there WAS a 40th anniversary party. And i tried to have the definitive list of parties.

I had a great time. I think it had to do with being with people I had not seen for awhile - Teflon Billy, Buttercup and Fus. It also had to do with meeting new people that were just as wonderful as I had thought.

I ran quite a few games and met some great gamers. But at the same time, I can't help but think that next year I want to try running games exclusively for ENWorlders and CMers (where I can control music, props, etc. in a hotel room).

Not the greatest GenCon I have attended but probably number 2.

...sorry to respond to some of these posts so late.

John, it was GREAT meeting you! I was really sorry that we didn't have time to sit down and chat for longer, or to game together. That's on my list for next time.

Thanks PC. I'm just happy that in my brief stay I did meet people. Time seemed to whiz by during the con that I didn't see much of people, but I was certainly occupied the whole time.

Next time I'll make a bigger attempt to sign up for games, which I did not do this time.

...if there is a next time, which I hope there will be.

You were there and I didn't get to meet you? DAMN! I've wanted to meet you and game with you for years.
Buttercup, not meeting you, and not seeing your Tunnels under Moscow game was definitely a disappointment. I'd love to read a report on how that went.

I enjoyed the Pulp Gamer podcaster (IIRC) who presented the Podcasting ENnie and gave a rather emotional speech on the value of podcasting for gaming now and in the future. I agree, if you're not listening to gaming related podcasts, you're missing out on a valuable resource.
