Rate the Epics!

Unlisted - I can't really vote for any of those in the face of Saving Private Ryan which is "recent", being within the last 10 years as you qualify "recent", and not so much "historically inspired" as set within an immensely important historical period. If I HAD to vote for one of the listed ones rather than "other" it would be Gladiator. Master and Commander is probably the most historically accurate but Gladiator is more visually compelling and consistently entertaining than the others

The Right Stuff is one of the best historical dramas I've ever seen. The events happened pretty much as played out, the characters are pretty close to the real thing, and it's exceptionally well-filmed.

What historical epic would I like to see? Well, after seeing and enjoying Troy, I think a film of the Battle of Thermopylae could be amazing.
