First Post
RAY OF CURE
Conjuration (Healing)
Level: Clr 2
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Effect: Ray
Duration: Intantaneous
Saving Throw: Will half
SR: Yes

A ray of positive energy springs forth from your fingers. You must suceed at a range touch attack to affect your target. The ray cures 1d8+1 points of damage +1 point per caster level (up to +10). Undead get hurt blah blah.

What do you think? 1d8 less cure than cure moderate and maybe miss but for range cure? worth it? tweak help?

While Cure Moderate Wounds gives 2d8+10, this only gives 1d8+10 and they are both 2nd level. i hope this is enough to balance it out, because it wouldn't seem right to have a cure with d6's.

Considering that the spell is Short range, you have to make a touch attack roll, and it's second level, it doesn't seem too bad to me. 2nd level sounds about right, although I could see it being 3rd as well.

Your wording indicates that it gives 1d8+11 (max).

See what I mean? Is it supposed to be only 1d8+10?

In case you have never seen it, in DotF (I believe) there is a metamagic feat called Reach Spell. Essentially it converts spells with Range: Touch into spells with a Ray effect of 60 feet.

I think the spell gives a +1 spell modifier. Hope the info helps.
