D&D 5E Rcvd Monster Manual today from Amazon - Ink Smeared Pages (Gargoyle/Genie)

My Monster Manual and Player's Handbook from Amazon arrived in great shape and no smeared ink. The PH I bought at a local store had crud all over the cover but it did luckily clean up.

IF the affected batches are consecutive, then may be able to find regions /distributors that got the affected copies ( ie east coast usa) whereas if the batches are nonsequential then the pattern if distribution would be harder to figure out.

Also received my MM from Amazon: My gargoyle is fine, but there is some obvious color weirdness on another page. Thankfully, it's not bad enough to bother replacing.

I got one copy from Amazon.ca, and pages 150 through 155 or so were all joined in the corner as if the pages weren't cut properly. I got a replacement copy shortly after, and it has the ink smudge issue on pages 140 and 141. Hopefully the third time's the charm!

Just think, in another 50 years these bad batches will be sought after as uber-rare collector pieces!

I got mine today. No smearing on the gargoyle. However, there is one oddness...

The cover on mine is on backwards and upside down.

I kid you not. I opened the package, took it out, and opened by book, and found myself looking in the Appendix, with all the pages upside down.

The book is otherwise fine. The pages all look okay. Just the cover got flipped around. It otherwise seems perfectly usable.

I am wondering if I want to send it back, or keep hold of it as a conversation piece. :)

Or, I could actually argue that every monster in my campaign is a nilbog....
