OK here's the deal...

I just stumbled across 2GB of PC800 RDRAM & I have a spare 2.66ghz PIV laying around.

Any recomendations on a good Intel 850 based mobo that I can get my hands on cheap to use them with?

This one seems to be pretty good. It can handle the RAM, I don't know about the processor but it should be able to. I don't know for sure though, since I just went and looked it up on Newegg.

[EDIT] I do have a certain fondness for the ASUS motherboards though, so you may want to check around yourself.

Yes!

Abit TH7-II RAID is the best motherboard I have used in my entire life and it happens to be i850. Please note though, it's a "tweakers" motherboard, so If you don't like overclocking and such, there are probably better boards available.

That is actually the board I've been gravitating towards.

The machine probably going to end up being used as a media machine (TiVo replacement, DVD-RW etc etc).

In this case I'm probably not going to overclock at all for a variety of reasons (ie the PC800 was free & I'm not going to fork out cash for PC1066 lol), but flexibility is always nice.

Well I ended up going with Gigabyte's GA-8IHXP.

The price was right ($40) & I've been very happy with the Gigabyte MoBo in my main machine (GA-8KNXP Ultra) both of which made the decision a good bit easier!
