Reach and Weapons

Hi everybody!

Is there any one weapon that allows to make 10 ft reach attacks but also does not negate my 5ft attack I would have with a non reach weapon?

I've allowed for a weapon like that IMC but I don't know if I was being far too generous or if it existed...

Well, you can do any "normal" reach weapon with a spiked gauntlet / improved unarmed strike in your other hand, or you could use a spiked chain.

Alternatively, there's quite a few houseruled feats out there (like, "Choke Grip") that allow you to threaten the area next to you.

Theres a Few Exotic Weapons in Savage Species that allow that aswell.

Also theres a Feat in Unaproachable East ( i think its UE ) that allows Spears to act as though they where 5' more reach. So a Normal sprear would threaten 10'

Check the spiked chain in the PH. I think you may like it.

Well it's pretty much that Spiked Chain.. although it's a Trident (and so can't be finessed and can't disarm and it can be throwed 10 ft range as any trident).
I like that UE feat too, guess I could apply that to any "long" weapons...
The spiked gauntlet was an original idea but was dismissed for "flavor" and being the DM I didn't see much pain in allowing him to do that (at a cost of one feat). That's why I was asking that here, sometimes I'm too generous and sometimes I'm too stingy =D

There's an exotic weapon called the Duom, which is a longspear combined with two reverse-angle spear-heads along the shaft. Allows you to make 10 foot ''reach' attacks AND 5 foot 'normal' attacks. It can be found in 'Sword and Fist'. Also in either 'Complete Warrior' or 'Arms and Equipment'. Check it out.
