In PBH1 reach says "you can attack enemies that are 2 squares as well as adjacent enemies"

Does this mean I may attack enemies adjacent to my target or am able to attack enemies adjacent to myself as well as 2 squares away.

Starter question I'm sure but not familiar with reach. Thanks for the help.

It means that if a monster stands right by you, you can hit them. This wasn't the case in 3rd edition when you had reach weapons, which is why they're clarifying it here.

Hmm, those answers are confusing to me.

In our current campaign, if something has a reach of 2, then it can attack anything adjacent to it, as well as anything 2 squares away.

For example, a creature with Reach 2 or a creature armed with a Halbard.

Now, they don't get OAs unless they have "Threatening Reach" which seems to be fairly rare.

MORE specifically... powers that have the range: Melee weapon have a range of 2, rather than 1. Reach weapons have no affect on powers that have Melee 1, or Melee touch.

Melee 1 is adjacent squares only, melee touch is affected by natural reach like from say a giant or a Goliath with the Stone Blessed PP.
