Read aloud monster text..

What a good idea.
"The MM has a lot of tools for creating new monsters, advancing monsters, and using monsters as player characters and cohorts. We reviewed ..each monster, for example, and if we thought there was a good chance it might be used as a PC, we gave it a level adjustment. If it was a monster that someone would like as a cohort, we gave it an LA (cohort) notation. We also included read aloud text describing every ..monster so that you don't have to wing it whenever you introduce a new monster."

No more fumbling around trying to describe monsters...
"It's like a squid with legs."

"big round ball the size of.. a basketball.. with eyestalks poking out."

Just a sgood as the Detect Magic guidelines the new magic items have in their stat blocks.

Why did no one think of it before?!?!?

That's very handy, in my opinion. Sure, you may be changing the descriptions as part of a homebrew or because you don't like the one they have written, but it's nice all the same. As a guy who is homebrewing a whole world, if I don't have to describe what the trifling little kobolds looks like, that's more time I can take describing more important things.

Err, umm: Same for the detect magic descriptions.

Wonderful!

I see so many people bagging on WOTC.... they do have their ups and downs but geeez... I think 3.5 is going to great....

They have LISTENED to gamers and taken what they can from 3 years of playing and are making the game better!!!! Those who do not like it... well... dont buy any of it..... I know I sure will and not regret spending one penny on it....
