Those who use metal dice for this are officially cheating... :)
My "death die" (I call it that because I use it for crucial rolls so the players know it's a big deal) came as a KS reward from Dwarven Forge's Wildlands campaign and I think they made it out of the heart of a dying star, like Thor's hammer, because it weighs a ton. There is a very satisfying "thud" when it hits the table.

What are the oldest dice that anyone owns? I still have my first set from 1979, and they are all worn and smoothed on the edges. I also have the low quality yellow dice that came with the red box basic set.

I've probably given away more dice than I own, but that's just because of my tradition of buying a standard dice set (1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 1d10, 1d12, 1d20) for each new player I teach to play D&D. In their favorite color, too, if I know it ahead of time and there's a dice set that color available.

RPG dice? My original blue box Basic set dice.
Non-rpg? Although I lost them about ten years ago, at one point I had a pair of dice rumored to be from an Atlantic City casino back in the 1950's.

I usually do the percentile D10 as well. So with more than 30 people having learned the game from me, that's over 200 dice... :p

I love that! I should get a sponsor so I can give the new kids in D&D Club a set of dice. Right now they all just roll on DnDBeyond, which has its benefits but doesn't feel right. Although when I offer to share my dice they mostly look at me like I'm weird and ask what's wrong with rolling online. I have no good answer.

I typically buy a plastic boxed set of dice, so it depends on if they package it with a percentile d10 or not. And now, because of 5E (and the advantage/disadvantage rule), a lot of the dice sets come with two d20s.

Tell them they take a week off the life of their favorite YouTuber every time they roll online. (If it's Jake Paul, tell them it's OK to keep on rolling that way.)

Unfortunately I lost the original dice I got in '80, but I do still have the dice I got from a Mentzer set, so that'd be '82? The D20 in that is practically a marble with numbers on it nowadays.

I keep my loose dice in individual bags by die type, the bag of D6's could probably dreadsock someone. As for sets, I've got enough to run my entire local convention. And I've given a fair number of sets to new players over the years (along with PHBs, mostly back in 2nd edition).

If I ever got in an accident on the way home from D&D, I could use my dice bag to smash the window and climb out, lol.
One of my "someday" projects is to find three of the largest metal D20's I can find and use them for the balls on a flail.
