Does floating them in salt water count? (Yes, I've done that.)Not going to weigh my dice... Not going to weigh my dice... Not going to weigh my dice... Not going to weigh my dice...
You can do that with golf balls as well to see if the center is slightly out of whack. It might affect putting. I have not done this, but know a few who do.Does floating them in salt water count? (Yes, I've done that.)
The first step in dealing with an addiction is admitting that you have a problem, so you're halfway there.Just weigh their dice. 8 pds.8 oz Call it 8 pds.
I did too. Some of my 80s plastic dice sink. And no I not going to use a whole box of salt to double super saturate the solution.Does floating them in salt water count? (Yes, I've done that.)
My "death die" (I call it that because I use it for crucial rolls so the players know it's a big deal) came as a KS reward from Dwarven Forge's Wildlands campaign and I think they made it out of the heart of a dying star, like Thor's hammer, because it weighs a ton. There is a very satisfying "thud" when it hits the table. Those who use metal dice for this are officially cheating...![]()
What are the oldest dice that anyone owns? I still have my first set from 1979, and they are all worn and smoothed on the edges. I also have the low quality yellow dice that came with the red box basic set.
I've probably given away more dice than I own, but that's just because of my tradition of buying a standard dice set (1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 1d10, 1d12, 1d20) for each new player I teach to play D&D. In their favorite color, too, if I know it ahead of time and there's a dice set that color available.

I typically buy a plastic boxed set of dice, so it depends on if they package it with a percentile d10 or not. And now, because of 5E (and the advantage/disadvantage rule), a lot of the dice sets come with two d20s.I usually do the percentile D10 as well.
Tell them they take a week off the life of their favorite YouTuber every time they roll online. (If it's Jake Paul, tell them it's OK to keep on rolling that way.)Right now they all just roll on DnDBeyond, which has its benefits but doesn't feel right. Although when I offer to share my dice they mostly look at me like I'm weird and ask what's wrong with rolling online. I have no good answer.
Unfortunately I lost the original dice I got in '80, but I do still have the dice I got from a Mentzer set, so that'd be '82? The D20 in that is practically a marble with numbers on it nowadays. What are the oldest dice that anyone owns? I still have my first set from 1979, and they are all worn and smoothed on the edges. I keep my loose dice in individual bags by die type, the bag of D6's could probably dreadsock someone.
