Real-Life Roleplaying: Columbia {d20}

I bought it (getting it was a pain in the behind, though).

Columbia is D20 Modern; that's one good reason to get it (rather than some of its predecessors). It also probably won't have overly confrontational politics (that scared me off of Somalia - Canadian troops tortured and murdered a Somalian when they went there to "intervene") and, frankly, I know more about Columbia than I do about Somalia. (Plus, in-game, I have no qualms whatsoever about shooting drug dealers, whereas shooting a khat-high poor guy looking for his son is a little bit harder to do.)

It's out already? I better pick that one up.

BTW, what's new and different in Colombia apart from the Somalia book?

It actually has a 2003 publication date in the cover, although I just got the book recently. Apparently Holistic isn't promoting these books all that much...

The basic layout is the same- background, rules, campaign suggestions and scenarios. The use a fictional city called Medilaca for a sample setting, whereas Somalia detailed the RL Mogadishu. The technical info focuses more guerilla fighting and insurgent groups than the military- like Somalia, every chapter has a sources cited section, mostly with a list of websites.

Advanced classes are the Combat Journalist, Guerrilla Fighter, Hitman, Political Zealot, and Treasure Hunter. There's about a dozen each of new feats and weapons- none of them overlap with Somalia that I can tell. Many of the new feats are Social feats, using the same system as Somalia did.

Somehow I find it even more disturbing when Canadians do stuff like that.

You guys are usually the GOOD ones. Mom likes you best.
