Anyone ever played the Blood Wars CCG? I bought a ton of the cards in hopes of playing, nut never got a chance to. I gave away my duplicates to friends.

I might also suggest takign advantage of the ENWorld Marketplace While I wouldn't suggest spamming it with your store's entire inventory, because it's still a small but growing resource, it might be worth cataloging some of that old stock and making people aware of it through the marketplace. If nothing else, offering a link to whatever EBAY auctions you have going or your EBAY store should you set one up wouldn't be a bad plan.

I know there are a LOT of gamers worldwide looking for this stuff, and targeted internet marketing is how a LOT of small businesses are keeping the doors open nowadays.

I buy old stuff off of ebay all the time, so yes I would sell it if I were you.

Now, you may not get much for it, I routinely buy old Dragons for 50 cents an issue or less in bulk; but I have seen them listed for starting prices of $5 or more also. [I don't even consider those, so I have no idea if they ever sell at those prices or not]

I have seen BECMI stuff go for a few bucks for used or incomplete sets to over $200 for one set of all 5 in near mint condition.

So it just depends on what you want out of it... make some money and clear out some space, definitely can do... get rich out of it, probably not.

While I’ve gotten pretty much all the classic D&D stuff I want (at least the stuff that is common enough for me to afford), I think there are still plenty of people like me out there collecting them.

It’s one of the nice things about classic D&D. There was a lot of stuff published and most of it is very affordable second-hand.

Of course, from the seller’s PoV it’s not so nice since few individual items can demand high prices.

We have a ton of this sort of stuff, how much interest is there in 26 year old Dragon mags? Are people still trying to get copies of BECMI adventures?

I'm always looking for BECMI and 1e AD&D adventures, yup. I recently bought a 1e and a WoTC 3e adventure off ebay at the same time. The 1e was vastly, vastly better, the 3e one (Scourge of the Howling Horde) was "here are some goblins and a wyrmling black dragon", completely worthless. I'll also buy 1e Dragon mags. I think getting 200 copies of the same issue was not a wise decision, though.

You know, I wouldn't mind picking up the old Spellfire stuff.
Heck - I bought a ton of Spellfire cards from a local games store. They are excellent for showing NPCs, spell effects etc. I have to pull those things out again for my games this weekend.

I think i got 4 boxes of booster packs for $20.

Oh an BECMI modules? Yes please. When you put them on eBay make sure to post a link in the Marketplace forum - I know I will want to check out what you've got.

Spellfire?? I assumed they just burned all of those, like the Indiana Jones RPG, or at least landfilled them.

While I don't know if the market is what it used to be, I think plenty of people still collect older dragons and, especially, BECMI stuff.

As tank touches on, things from 85 (and that seems to be the turning point) and earlier have a certain cachet.

Ibut is it worth the time and effort?

Yes there is.

Though it depends on the item.

In my case I own mostly evertyhing already. But if you have a catalog or something ... I'd definitely give it a look. I'm too much of a collector to pass a good opportunity.

Otherwise, if you want to contact me, I happen to be on hotmail too ...
