[really OT]-What would you bet...?

If money is allowed, I'd bet $3. I'm not a high roller.

If it has to be items, I'd bet three knives from my collection of edged weapons. Some of them looked better in the catalogue or on the web site than they are once you get your hands on them.

I would bet rolls of natural 18 in character generation.

If I rolled 3 18's already, and I could either lose all three (and have normal stats), or win 3 more and have straight 18's...

Heh, if I rolled 3 18's? Or 3 3's!

or kobolds...

You know, this reminds me of a novel I read about this guy who meets the devil, who tells him he will give him whatever he wishes, but his worst enemy - a person he really, really hates - will have it twice as much. What would you choose?

My enemy gets it twice as much?

I'd wish to have one of my kidneys removed from my body.

But then, I'm vindictive like that.

Salutations,

Heh, but this is the devil you are dealing with- any response is not going to be a good idea, but an evil one is most likely going to work out to be a lot more trouble for you then them.

I either read the same novel or one like it. The guy ends up wishing for the perfect woman. The theory being that would be too much of a good thing.

PS: Of course, I'm Joe Suave so I think all women are perfect.

I remember this from an episode of the old "Dave Allen at Large" TV show. (Anybody else ever see that show? British comedian missing the last digit on one of his index fingers?) If I remember correctly, Dave's response was: "I wish my desire for women to be cut in half."

A billion dollars, and karmic justice.

Or, a billion dollars, and fulfillment of one of my dreams.

The only 'enemy' I really have, dies in every single dream that he has...

Yep, that's the one. Although, he asked for a woman described as "the maximum a man could ask", and ended with "twice the maximum a man could ask, I wouldn't want to be in that man's position", or something like that.

BTW, being half beaten to death is a good one. Losing a kidney is nasty too. I'll remember them if the devil comes to me.
