reckless attack feat

But both of them and flanking are combat options open to everyone, right? And you prolly wouldn't believe how often higher ground occurs in my games....

They are options you can use if the circumstances are available, not always like with defensive fighting.

A combat option, let's call it "offensive fighting" that would give +2 attack and -4 or -6 AC, and you could use all the time is seriously to powerfull, that's why it's a feat.

You think it's too powerful? I'm not so sure... Plane Sailings experience seems to support me, eh?

It would be a nice tactic for several small dudes to overwhelm some big bad buddy (and hope he ain't got Power Attack, Cleave and Great Cleave).

I don't see any real problems to allow it.

+1 to hit per -1 AC means +2 (or more) to damage per -1 to AC with twohanded Power Attack. Kewl. My barbarian would love to cause 20 more points of damage for a puny -10 to AC, especially in a surprise round where he has the possibility to win initiative.

Make sure to use a huge monkey gripped spiked chain + great cleave for maximum possible fun... Combat reflexes probably wouldn't hurt.

Couple that in with your mounted combat pixie cohort, riding on your hat.

Ideally the pixie needs stunning fist, just so no-one can hit ya back.

You'll win!

Is there a feat that lets you reduce your AC and increase your attack or damage? I thought I came across a feat called Reckless Attack that accomplishes this, but I can't find it in any of my books.

It is indeed in the Quintessential Fighter lets you take 1 off ac and add to your damage to a max. of your base attack bonus. I have a level 14 warrior who uses this feat very often. I am waiting for the DM to nerf it any day now.

With Holy conduit this feat can be a nightmare for the DM. I can (on good rolls) do an extra 42 points of damage a round. My ac will wind up at about 11. Most mobs we fight have such a high BAB that ac 25 or 11 makes very littlie difference.

If you really want to see some damage you should see what happens when I do a crit with my Dwarfish war axe when using reckless attack.

The fierce weapon quality from A&EG gives you +1 damage for each point of AC you sacrifice for a whole round, up to your dex bonus. It is a +2 equivalent property. It's stupid good on ranged weapons :p
