Recommend Me Some Diabolically Appropriate Music

Tangerine Dream - several of their earlier CDs are quite creepy/distrubing: Rubycon, Zeit, Phaedra, Atem, Sorcerer soundtrack, Green Desert, etc.
Fields of the Nephilim - The Nephilim, Elyzium (and EPs/singles off of both, in particular Sumerland and Psychonaut)
Diamanda Galas - about anything, although Saint of the Pit is particularly good
Glenn Danzig - Black Aria (I haven't heard Black Aria II, so I can't comment on that one)

how about a search of halloween music cds/compilations (not so much the Thriller and Monster Mash end of the spectrum, that would just illict giggles/giddiness and break the mood, but the ones that are more instrumental).

Here's a few to try.

The audio tracks from Diablo and Diablo II.
The soundtrack for the Lat of the Mohicans.
The soundtrack from The Ninth Gate.

I couldn't let this thread go without a plug for both of Danzig's Black Aria albums (esp the first one). A sample to wet your whistle.

Nobody is going to get that.

Why not? On a site this big there must be a music major or two around.

But I would say not as the feet shuffling and awkward coughing might ruin the mood.

Stravinsky is a good choice. I am surprised no one brought up A Night on Bald Mountain or O Fortuna.
