Recommended sources for SF minis

For pre paints:

buy cheap common star wars mini from ebay, and commons from the DDM range. Hack up and mix n match as you as u wish. Nothing scarier than a Lemure with a laser!!

Privateer press has some great steam-punky minis that could be easily switched around. Have to glue and paint yourself though.
Most metal minis aren't pre-painted.
Hero-clix of various types.
Have you looked into... Lego figs?
Warhammer 40K has tons of different ships, tanks, hovertanks, speeder cycles, etc. Again, paint glue & yourself.
If you are doing large ship-to-ship, try StarFleet Battles, Metal Storm, Sudden Death:Overkill, Babylon5, and even the starwars WotC plastic series. And again, Lego.
And weren't there sets of mech warrior or battle tech minis for that board game?
