Recreational drugs

Are there any "canonical" recreational drugs, other than combat drugs (for some definitions of "recreation," I guess) in the OTU?

And moving beyond that, are there any drugs you've come up with for your game?

Not for Traveller but Warhammer FRP.v2 -
  • Night leaf for helping a person sleep
  • SAP helps healing
  • Crow Feet is for energy - think red bull
  • Wood is for...well, if it last longer than 4 hours, you may have a mutation

In a long-time campaign of mine, one of the cultures was a mix of the Nyissans from David Edding's books and the Aztecs. They had drugs for absolutely everything: combat, medicine, religious ceremonies, commerce, sports, whatever.

I remember a PC walking into a shop where the air was heavily laden with incense and other things. He had only a hazy memory of what happened there, but an hour later he found himself wandering the bazaar with a stuffed miniature mammoth under one arm, minus quite a lot of gold, and wondering what happened. I believe the mechanic was simply save vs poison with some modifier, if the save failed they spend 1d6x10 on something random in the shop.

We use the Nuisances list and made a few up of our own.

Black Lotus - chewed, lasts 1d4x10 min, -2 wis/int, can not be knocked unconscious from losing 1/2 hp in a single round, but will die if hp becomes 0(no -10.)

Dragon tongue - broad leaf placed over mouth allows player to breath in otherwise depleted oxygen environments(smoke filled rooms, poison gas, stinking cloud, cloud kill.). Will not let player breath underwater.

Gnarlroot - when chewed heals all hp over 24hrs but ages a character by 1 year.

Colossal smoke - smoked, lasts 1d4 turns, increases size by 1d6 categories. Only the character, clothes and items are not affected.
