Red text in the SRD?

First Post
Our group downloaded the SRD other day for reference, since we do d20 writing. I've been compiling it, and I noticed that several things are noted in red - some of the psionics, a few monsters, and some other things. Does that mean these things are no longer usable? If so, why haven't they been yanked like the illithid and those other monsters?

It's worth noting (assuming I'm correct here; if I'm not, someone feel free to correct me) that parts of the released SRD cannot be "yanked". From what I understand, once something is released, it can be updated, but it can't be later declared non-OGC.

The stuff in the gentleman's agreement that didn't get into the SRD (mind flayers, beholders, etc.) doesn't count because the initial gentleman's agreement wasn't a formal part of the license.

You might well be right, Alzrius - I don't claim to know that much about the legal aspects of the SRD. The red text might be updated material (I haven't checked), but it's weird - some entries just have the header in red (like the lich template and red dragon), and some have a red header that's been struck through (psionic combat and psionic items); there's even one entry that's totally in red (planetouched - aasimar and tieflings).

I think you're right, Avatar - the red text only shows up when you change the text from Times to something else (we're using Arail 9 pt.).
The red text includes: the psionic combat section (crossed out), psionic items (crossed out, including the note about it being OGC), psionic disease (red/crossed out), the red dragon, lich, and salamander (red headers), the planetouched (entire entry red), a couple magic items (wings of flying and something else).

EDIT: I think the red/strikethrough thing is a funky font that doesn't translate from rtf to Word format - 99% of the spells and psionic powers ended up being red and crossed out. *shrug*

I don't know if I'm doing it right to get the red text visible.

For example, I opened the psionic combat section file in MS Word and change the text font to Arial. Nothing red shows up, only the spellchecker's green squiggly lines.

I posted this over at Montecook.com, too, to seee if anyone over there knows what I'm talking about.
Here's how I got the red lines: I was insertin files in order into the main document, formatting them as I went along (to Arial 9 pt). I did the spells, monsters, and psionic powers in separate files, because they were so big and it was easier to manage; the red text didn't show up until I planted them into the main document. I'm beginning to think that there's some sort of coding in there, hidden under the formatting, that we're not supposed to see, and I somehow stumbled across a way to make it appear. *shrug*
