Reforming Galifar

What?! 10th-level Eberron characters don't have benefactors, they ARE benefactors! (Or, that would be at least one interpretation for future exploration...)

You willing to spill some details, or does this benefactor have the Mysterious sub-type?

They might be high level but my players are not long term thinkers, like I said mostly hack and slashers before. So, now they work for Haydith ir'Wynarn who is now nearly 17. She wants to be the Queen of Galifar and she has a plan to get it done. And it would be in my opinion too easy to make her evil or really under the control of something evil. IMC she's become a student of the Dragon Prophecies and is being taught magic by a good Dragon. Though at this point the PCs don't know this.

So, you guys are actually almost hitting the turn of the millenium? (Guessing by age.)

Nowithstanding that my opinion has no real weight, since it is your campaign, I would have to say I absolutely agree with Haydith with not being evil, or being controlled by evil, being from the nominally ' evil ' nation, it just makes sense that she is a black sheep. I would think that at some point, she might be almost swayed from her path by an evil family member, but good (or rather, non-evil) should win out. Seeing that she is the granddaughter of Kaius, I would expect she has a hard side to her, however.

Becoming Queen of Galifar, hehehe, quite the task. Draconic knowledge is certainly an edge over the other contenders, past and present, though. Do you have the issue of Dragon that details Dreadhold, with the Karrn In The Iron Mask?

This week we are on a train to Thrane. :D

When I was playing a character idea I really liked was a Blade of Orien that was built on a Swashbuckler or type character. Since I don't care about mechanics for NPCs the character is a Blade of Orien and really useful with her Dragonmarks. During the Vampire Blade adventure the group made a friend with a Lightning Train conductor and this is going to be his sister coming by to thank them for saving her brother's life.

Of course while she is there the train will be attacked by the Emeral Claw. They still want the schemas and don't know the schemas were sold to House Cannith and then given to the LoB. If the players think about it they can possible explain to the EC that they don't have the Schemas and perhaps get this enemy off their back. Of course there will be a Lich from the Blood of Vol supporting the EC and commanding the undead armies they snuck into the two cargo holds. :D

I don't know if it's too late, but I had an idea that might really work for that campaign of yours, Crothian.

What if you got the PCs to go on a few specific quests that "set in motion" Galifar's unification - and then had access to some kind of divination / future sight that told them it was going to happen, but over the next four decades? That way you wouldn't have to actually play out 4 decades of unification - and even better, you could have the PCs up against any forces that are disrupting that future. It's a bit time-travelly, but I think it would be pretty manageable. You could even base it around some Galifar artifact that allowed the kings to keep Galifar together for so long.

That's a cool idea. I like that. Now we are laying the foundation of helping out the countries to be unified and making the PCs known in these areas. We are also dealing with some little plot threads like the Blood of Vol and the Gatekeepers. I like the idea of an artifact they have to find. It was stolen by someone and that eventually lead to the fall of Galifar. Now they need to get it back. To learn about it though they will have to get into Thronehold and of course that just isn't allowed. Thanks.

The other benefit I just realized is you could take a break once in awhile.

Fighter: "Is Galifar reuniting?"

Wizard (Checks the Thermometer of Kings): "Yep, looks good."

Rogue: "So about that treasure-map..."

Any plot dealing with divining the future would be an ideal time for the Chamber to make some kind of secret entrance, would it not?
