Regional Names

Arkhandus

First Post
Something I've continually forgotten to mention is that the T13K Setting Guide PDF is sorely lacking in example names or naming conventions for characters of any given region...... Most of the nations of Aerde don't have names or descriptions that give any hints as to what sort of names are appropriate for characters of the region. Ulruz and Caedmon are the only two nations that I have been able to guess appropriate character names for, as they are the only ones noticeably modeled after real-world countries (Rome and Scotland, respectively, if I'm not mistaken). I really haven't had any idea how to name characters of other regions, let alone any of the non-human races, and have found that all of my T13K characters so far have names ending in -us or -eus, strangely......

Kinrisar is modeled along an Arabic flavor. Some NPC's found there:

King Hadri Yyladro al-Rishi
Alistra Karnom
Bandar Karnom
Omaan Al'Jar
Arch Mage Azar of the Flame

I know that Suryanasta is Indian (as in from India) in flavor. I remember the creator discussing it in our old/old/old forums.

In any case, this is a good idea, Arkhandus.

Paludosus has a entry that specifies Name Generator #2, Mixed Felana Style but I'm not sure we still have that link available, however the Gazeteer has a number names as examples.

If a Paludosan name has a lot of S's and/or Z's its probably about right :)

Ulruz folks would be Latinesque, though vulgar Thusesti (ie Goblinoid, outside of Ulruz) could use more traditional goblin names.
